From 30 October to 1 November, Pinheirinho Golf Course will host the inaugural edition of the Portugal Legends Championship, an official event on the Staysure Legends Tour. The tournament marks the course’s debut on the international circuit and further reinforces the positioning of Portugal and the Alentejo as leading golf destinations, contributing to the international profile of the region.
Part of Pinheirinho Comporta, a 400-hectare development by VIC Properties, the course will provide the setting for a competition bringing together some of the biggest names in the game. Expected participants include Michael Campbell, winner of the 2005 U.S. Open, Paul McGinley, captain of the victorious European Ryder Cup team in 2014, as well as Jamie Donaldson and Stephen Gallacher, members of the historic Gleneagles team.
Located at the heart of Pinheirinho Comporta, Pinheirinho Golf Course was developed with a strong environmental focus and forms part of a landmark destination approximately one hour from Lisbon. The development will include Six Senses Comporta, the first Six Senses property in Portugal to incorporate branded residences, in addition to villas, apartments and private plots.

Designed by Portuguese architect Jorge Santana da Silva, the 18-hole Pinheirinho Golf Course winds through dunes and extensive pine forests, following the natural contours of the landscape. Among its most distinctive features is a 3.5-hectare lake integrated into the course and visible from several holes.

In addition to the professional competition, the event will also feature the exclusive Playing Experiences offered by the Staysure Legends Tour, allowing amateur golfers to share the course and compete alongside Major champions, Ryder Cup stars and Tour winners, enjoying an experience like that of professional players during tournament week.
